Henrique Oliva, MD, PhD, a postdoctoral associate in the Yale Department of Psychiatry, has been selected to receive the John Renner Travel Award from the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP).
The AAAP’s 35th Annual Meeting will be held in Naples, Fla., from November 14-17, 2024.
The John Renner Travel Award is given to medical students and physicians who demonstrate exceptional potential in the field of substance use disorders and co-occurring psychiatric disorders. The award is granted by a review committee of highly trained addiction psychiatrists who believe that Oliva will be a great addition to the field of Addiction Psychiatry.
As an awardee, Oliva will contribute to the annual meeting initiatives, including social media engagement and attending the research committee meeting.
Oliva currently works under the supervision of Gustavo Angarita, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry, at the Yale Cocaine Research Clinic, in the Clinical Neuroscience Research Unit (CNRU) of the Connecticut Mental Health Center.
