Paul Stockhammer, MD, PhD received the Distinguished Young Investigator Research Award at this year’s EGFR Resisters Research Summit in Chicago, IL, for his work entitled “Co-occurring Alterations in Multiple Tumor Suppressor Genes Associate with Outcomes in Patients with EGFR-mutant Lung Cancer.” The award recognizes outstanding young investigators presenting their unpublished research. The annual EGFR Resisters Research Summit enables Young Investigators to gather with peers, mentors, and patient advocates to discuss their research, and to prepare them for successful careers that help to advance the field of EGFR-driven lung cancer and improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Stockhammer is a third-year internal medicine resident at Yale School of Medicine, and a research member in the Politi Lab, co-mentored by Drs. Katerina Politi and Sarah Goldberg, where he focuses on EGFR-driven lung cancer and drug resistance, with emphasis on studying the relationship between EGFR and co-occurring tumor suppressor gene alterations.
