Sit Down and Write: Silent Work Session Using the Pomodoro Method (Online)

Registration is required. Click here to register.

Join us for a dedicated Sit Down and Write session hosted by the library, designed to support your focused work and productivity. This session is open to all members of the Yale community who are engaging in silent activities such as writing, studying, reading, or research.

During this session, we will utilize the Pomodoro Method, a time-management technique that breaks work into intervals of focused activity (usually 25 minutes), followed by short breaks. This method has been shown to enhance concentration and productivity.

What to Expect:

  • Structured Work Periods: Engage in silent, focused work intervals of 25 minutes, followed by 5-minute breaks.
  • Silent Environment: A quiet space conducive to concentration and deep work.
  • Community: Work alongside fellow students, researchers, and staff, fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared purpose.
  • Supportive Atmosphere: Library staff will be on hand to facilitate the session and provide any assistance you may need.

Details:

  • Date and Time: September 22, 2024 from 1pm-3pm
  • Location: Zoom
  • What to Bring: Your work materials (laptop, books, etc.) and a willingness to focus.

Whether you're working on a research paper, preparing for boards or exams, or simply need a quiet place to read, this session is designed to help you make the most of your time. We look forward to seeing you there!
