Catherine X. Wright, MD

Dr. Catherine X. Wright, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Cardiovascular Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. She is a cardio-oncologist and multimodality cardiac imaging specialist.

Dr. Wright's clinical practice is focused on optimizing longitudinal cardiac care for patients with cancer, from baseline cardiovascular risk assessment prior to initiating cardiotoxic therapies through long-term surveillance and management of treatment-related cardiovascular disease. She also has advanced training across the full spectrum of cardiac imaging modalities, including cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and nuclear cardiology.

Her research uses large, real-world datasets to build models that improve cardiovascular outcomes for patients undergoing cardiac imaging, particularly in those with cancer. She has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in journals including the European Heart Journal, JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging, and the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Wright earned her MD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine, fellowship in cardiovascular medicine, and advanced fellowship in cardiac imaging and cardio-oncology, all at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine, and is an active member of the American Heart Association, where she has presented her research at the AHA Scientific Sessions, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, which recognized her with its National Quality Improvement Award in 2023.
