Yale Urology Welcomes Stroumbakis and Alonzo

Yale Urology welcomes Dr. Nicholas Stroumbakis, Assistant Professor of Clinical Urology, who will continue to serve patients in Greenwich. Dr. Stroumbakis treats the entire spectrum of urological disease. He specifically focuses on diagnosis and treatment of prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancer. Other clinical interests include prostatic diseases (BPH, prostatitis), kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, and bladder disease including overactive bladder. He performs minimally-invasive procedures including no-scalpel vasectomies, prostate therapies (TUMT, GreenLight, and Rezum), as well as MRI- and Ultrasound-guided prostate biopsies.

Dr. Stroumbakis received his medical degree from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and he completed his surgical internship and residency training at New York Medical College. Dr. Stroumbakis trained in urologic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center before joining Greenwich Urological Associates in 1996. Previously the Director of Surgical Oncology at Greenwich Hospital, he also was Co-Director of the Prostate Cancer Support Group. He is an active member of the American Urological Association.

Dr. Catherine Alonzo, a general urologist, treats patients with stone disease and prostatic diseases, as well as female urology disorders including voiding dysfunctions, urinary incontinence, and interstitial cystitis. With specialized training and expertise, Dr. Alonzo performs minimally-invasive procedures including endoscopy and lithotripsy for stones, procedures for prostate enlargement and bladder cancer. She joins Yale Urology as Assistant Professor of Clinical Urology and will continue to see patients in Greenwich.

Dr. Alonzo received her Master of Science degree from Georgetown University and medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed a surgical internship at UConn School of Medicine, and residency training at Nassau University Medical Center in General Surgery and New York Medical College in Urology. She is a member of the American Urological Association and the Society of Women in Urology.
