Overview

Declan McGuone, MBBCh (a medical degree awarded outside the U.S.), is a neuropathologist who focuses on diagnosing diseases of the brain and nervous system. He also provides autopsy pathology to help determine causes of death and anatomic pathology to examine how disease affects tissues.

As an associate professor of pathology at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. McGuone investigates how certain tumors and injuries develop in the nervous system, with the aim of improving patient care.

He received his medical training from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, completed a residency in anatomic pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital, and pursued fellowships in forensic pathology at the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and neuropathology at Massachusetts General Hospital.
