Events Programming

The Yale Center for RNA Science and Medicine sponsors a range of programming that connects researchers, trainees, and the broader RNA community, from large annual events to recurring seminars. These include:

• The Annual RNA Center Retreat each year for faculty and trainees; the 2025 retreat marked its 13th year. Complementing the retreat, technology workshops offer attendees hands-on training on tools and techniques used in RNA research.
• A monthly RNA Club, organized by students and postdocs and open to the entire Yale community. The club features research talks from trainees in different RNA labs, followed by one-on-one feedback sessions with center faculty. Alongside it, the Yale Postdoc Initiative in RNA Careers (PIRC) sponsors mentorship matching and peer support programs, as well as speaking opportunities, travel awards, and eligibility for the Joan and Tom Steitz RNA Fellows Program.
• The RNA Collaborative Series which connects research centers worldwide through a virtual seminar series.
• The Sid Altman Memorial Annual Symposium honoring the legacy of Professor Sidney Altman, who shared the 1989 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for discovering the catalytic properties of RNA.
