Biography

We are hiring at all levels (postdocs, graduate students, research assistants). Please feel free to reach out if you are interested!

Sai Zhang received his PhD in Computer Science from Tsinghua University, where he trained in machine learning and computational biology. He completed postdoctoral training in the Department of Genetics at Stanford University School of Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Michael Snyder, gaining extensive experience in disease genetics and genomics, and was subsequently promoted to an instructor.

Before moving to Yale, Zhang was an assistant professor at the University of Florida. The Zhang Laboratory focuses on developing advanced AI and machine learning models that integrate large-scale human genetics, single-cell multiomics, and clinical data, aiming to uncover the high-resolution biology of complex diseases, guide the development of novel therapeutics, and advance precision medicine. His research is currently supported by NIGMS R35 (MIRA), MND Association, Packard Center for ALS Research, and Target ALS.
