Embodied Selfhood in Borderline Personality Disorder
First-year resident Eli Neustadter, MD, MS, is the first author of a paper published in Journal of Consciousness Studies. Aberrations of self-experience are considered a core feature of borderline personality disorder (BPD). With Yale faculty mentors Matthew Steinfeld, PhD, and Sarah Fineberg, MD, PhD, and Katerina Fotopoulou, PhD, of the University College London, Neustadter proposes a novel theory to elucidate the developmental origins of embodied phenomenology in BPD.
