Outreach Programs

The Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology offers programs that are available to the wider Yale and New Haven communities. These events are exciting opportunities for students, faculty and staff to talk about their research outside of the laboratory. Some of the recent programs are described below:

In the spring of 2014, the Department provided a nourishing ground to the Sensory Physiology Club initiative. The project was initiated by the laboratories of Slav Bagriantsev and Elena Gracheva in collaboration with the Yale Pathways to Science SCHOLAR programs. The goal of the Club is to promote scientific education among schoolchildren of the Greater New Haven area. The Club focuses on explaining latest and textbook-grade scientific knowledge in the area of sensory physiology: the sense of touch, heat and cold. We welcome other laboratories to bring their expertise and knowledge to contribute to the development of the Club into a long-term educational project! You can find our lectures on YouTube under "Sensory Physiology Club".
