Katie Prochownik

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh- as a result, I am an obligate Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates fan. And yes, of course I love pierogies. After high school, I moved to Baltimore for college and eventually realized that medicine was the path for me. I moved back to Pittsburgh to work for a short time as a bartender and spin instructor before going to the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. I am thrilled to join the Yale Peds Family! Aside from my obsession with potted plants, I also enjoy running or hiking with my yellow lab, Bella Rose, and trying any of the amazing restaurants or breweries around town. My main areas of research interest include public health, advocacy, and sexual reproductive health.
