Brooke Ballantine Redmond, MD

Biography: Dr. Brooke Redmond is an attending neonatal critical care physician at the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. She serves as the Yale New Haven Hospital System Neonatal ICU Network Clinical Operations Director. She is the creator and director of the 24/7 BABY program, an innovative partnership between Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Emergency Medical Services (bit.ly/247BABY). Dr. Redmond is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE), an Instructor Mentor for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), an Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), a steering committee member for the AAP Pediatric First Aid & Safety Committee, and a 2024-2025 Public Voices Fellow at Yale with the OpEd Project. Through Yale's Fetal Care Center (FCC), she works with families prenatally, providing subspecialty consultation and coordination for high-risk pregnancies. She also serves as a volunteer educator and content expert for EMS and fire services.

Dr. Redmond is a graduate of Amherst College, and she was a high school science teacher in Washington DC prior to becoming a doctor. She earned her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her Pediatric Residency at the University of Massachusetts and her Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at the Yale School of Medicine. She practiced neonatology in Columbus, Ohio in the Nationwide Children's Hospital system prior to returning to Yale to join the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine (NPM) faculty. In 2025, the Children's Hospital Association named Dr. Redmond an “Audrey” Honoree for Trailblazing Women in Medicine, and in 2024 she was awarded Connecticut Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Physician of the Year. Her interests include medical leadership, education, writing, program development, prehospital neonatal resuscitation, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary simulation and collaboration, telehealth, breastfeeding and lactation support.
