Biography

Marcia G. Hunt, Ph.D. earned her doctorate in clinical community psychology from Bowling Green State University in 2005 with an emphasis in in qualitative and mixed-methods research as well as program development, implementation and system-level evaluation.

Dr. Hunt worked at the Veteran’s Health Administration for almost 15 years at both the Connecticut VA Healthcare System and within the Office of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, VHA Central Office. She began her time in VHA Central Office as an Associate Director of the VA Northeast Program Evaluation Center (NEPEC), responsible for the national program evaluation of programs designed to assist people with serious mental illness diagnoses. Later, she joined the Quality Improvement and Implementation Consultation team where she was responsible for partnering with regional Chief Mental Health Officers for the monitoring the quality and operational integrity of mental health care delivery within 9 states and 24 VHA Healthcare Systems.

Currently, Dr. Hunt serves as a Senior Health Services Researcher at Rush University System for Health, focusing on aging and serious mental illness. As a licensed clinical psychologist, Marcia also holds leadership roles within the American Psychological Association (APA). Dr. Hunt's research interests focus on evaluating recovery-related changes for people with serious mental illness and the relationship between valued social roles and life functioning.
