Biography
I am an early stage investigator who has developed expertise in investigations of mental health in SUDs, with a specific focus on how alexithymia contributes to mental health in in opioid use disorder, co-occurring cocaine and opioid use disorders, in prenatal cocaine exposure, and the impacts of alexithymia and mental health on SUD treatment. I have additionally examined the role of inhibitory control in both those who currently use substances, including cannabis, and in those with successful abstinence from substances. My current work focuses on alexithymia and gender as predictors of substance use escalation in emerging adults.
