Career Advancement and Leadership Skills for Women in Healthcare
: Produced by Harvard Medical School, this professional development program delivers evidence-based strategies, skills development and education that help women at various stages of their healthcare careers step into and succeed in leadership positions. It also helps to effectively cultivate highly qualified current and future women leaders by developing competencies in career-building and leadership skills.
Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM)
: The Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine® (ELAM®) program is a year-long part-time fellowship for women faculty in schools of medicine, dentistry, public health and pharmacy. The program is dedicated to developing the professional and personal skills required to lead and manage in today's complex health care environment, with special attention to the unique challenges facing women in leadership positions.
Public Voices Fellowship
:From 2011 to 2022, WFF supported The Public Voices Fellowship at Yale which gives 20 women and under-represented minority scholars the opportunity to work with top journalists from The OpEd Project. As a part of the program, fellows receive support in all areas of public thought leadership, including writing and placing op-ed pieces, conducting TV and radio interviews, and using social media. The fellowship is designed to assist scholars in increasing their influence as thought leaders whose ideas impact not only academia but also larger public debates.
YSM Women’s Leadership Development Program: Designed to foster the leadership and professional development of junior women faculty. The program seeks to: enhance the leadership capacity and vision of junior women faculty at YSM; educate and equip junior women faculty with tools to navigate the leadership structure at YSM; build a network of support for junior women faculty across YSM; educate and partner with other faculty members concerning the leadership challenges that women faculty must navigate; and support and augment “deep-dive” department-led initiatives intended to develop and retain women faculty. These aims will be met through two simultaneous professional development activities: a tailored individual and group coaching program for women faculty, and a comprehensive leadership development lecture series.
