As much as we try to avoid it, we all have been or will be involved in an adverse event involving a patient… What happens after an adverse event? How do you disclose the adverse event to the patient/family members? What happens to the provider after an adverse event? How do you cope with feelings of inadequacy and guilt?
The Department conducted a workshop for residents and faculty on 3/23/2017 from 4.30-6.00 pm at Max Taffel room which aimed to tackle these problems with interactive exercises and role play to coach participants on disclosure and in dealing with the second victim phenomenon.
