The Yale Urology tradition continues, with a special emphasis on pediatrics each December.
The 2024 pediatric urology visiting professor was Christopher S. Cooper, MD.
He is the Tyrone D. Artz Chaired Professor of Urology, Professor of Urology and Pediatrics Vice Chair, Department of Urology Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education Director, Pediatric Urology at the University of Iowa.
Cooper opened the event with his presentation on "Long Term Complications of Antibiotics, Anticholinergics, and Anesthetics – An Unrecognized Legacy of Pediatric Urology?”
Residents also participated by sharing case presentations, debates, a research talk, and lecture.

- Michael Jalfon, MD, case presentation: “Bilateral Nephrectomy in a 3-year-old on Peritoneal Dialysis: Discussion of Surgical Approach.”
- Jeffrey Carbonella, MD, case presentation: “Pediatric Visiting Professor.”
The 2024 Annual Pediatric Urology Visiting Professor Day ended with a final presentation by Dr. Cooper titled, “Why Be Scared of a Hat?”
