A Branford College Tea on the Yale campus will welcome Ira Helfand, MD, co-president of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, an organization that received the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize; and a member of the International Steering Group of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), recipient of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize.
The event will be held on Monday, April 2, at 4:00 p.m., at Branford House, 80 High Street, New Haven, and will be hosted by Enrique M. De La Cruz, PhD, professor of molecular biophysics & biochemistry and head of Branford College.
Dr. Helfand is a former chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine and president of the medical staff at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, and now practices as an internist and urgent care physician at Family Care Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
