Implicit Organizational Bias: Mental Health Treatment Culture and Norms as Barriers to Engaging With Diversity

May 05, 2021

Miraj Desai, PhD, instructor in psychiatry, is first author of a paper in American Psychologist that aims to better understand the sources of barriers to care for Latinx and Asian patient populations by examining shared themes across providers' descriptions of their patient encounters.

The article received an official review and formal entry into Harvard University's Race, Research, and Policy Portal (RRAPP). One of the main goals of RRAPP is to "further the field of racial equity, advance knowledge, and promote the implementation of effective interventions, while providing practitioners easy access to nationally significant materials to further sustainable change."

The RRAPP aims to directly impact sustainable organizational change, as well as provide resources for educational curricula across the professional schools.
