Biography

Cara Tomaso, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist. She has specialized training in pediatric psychology and works with youth presenting with chronic or acute health conditions in medical settings.

Currently, her practice is embedded in the Section of Pediatric Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at Yale New Haven Hospital. As a member of multidisciplinary treatment teams, she splits her time between the Yale Limb Restoration and Lengthening Program and the Female+ Athlete Program. She provides behavioral health consultation to treatment teams and direct intervention to youth and families to support illness and injury adjustment, psychological and behavioral readiness for surgery, and behavioral pain management.
