Biography
Jacob is a Postdoctoral Fellow within the Yale School of Medicine—Yale Cancer Center. Jacob works in the research labs of Dr. Katerina Politi and Dr. Don Nguyen, where he focuses on elucidating the mechanisms by which lung cancers metastasize.
Prior to his appointment at Yale, Jacob served as a Nuclear Weapons Specialist in the US Air Force from 2005-2012. Upon completion of his service, Jacob completed a BA in Biology and Chemistry from Minot State University where he conducted leukemia research under the mentorship of Dr. Heidi Super. Jacob received a PhD in Genetics from the University of Iowa in 2022 under the mentorship of Dr. Adam Dupuy. At Iowa, Jacob used novel screening approaches to better understand genetic resistance to targeted therapies in melanoma.
