The Program Committee of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons (AAPS) has honored Yale medical student Jake Moscarelli with an oral presentation slot at the AAPS 103rd Annual Meeting. Jake’s project, titled “Dual Perfusion Superomedial Pedicle in Reduction Mammaplasty - A Prospective Intraoperative Radiographic Study,” will be featured in the Innovations Session at the May 2025 meeting.

This groundbreaking research is a collaborative effort with Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery, Paris Butler, MD, MPH, the project’s principal investigator. Jake’s abstract stood out among more than 1,054 submissions, with only about 8% earning podium presentation spots.

Dr. Butler expressed high praise for Jake’s accomplishment, stating, “The AAPS is the most esteemed organization within the plastic surgery subspecialty, so Jake, one of our outstanding Yale medical students, receiving an abstract podium presentation at the annual meeting is truly extraordinary.”

The AAPS Annual Meeting is a premier event for the field, showcasing cutting-edge research and innovations. Jake’s selection highlights not only his dedication and talent but also the significant contributions his study offers to the plastic surgery community.
