HIST1H1E is a rare Neurodevelopmental Syndrome with only 50 cases have been reported. Dr. Jiang’s team started a research project aimed at studying why people with HIST1H1E (H1-4) gene variants have medical and neurodevelopmental symptoms such as autism. Eventually, Dr. Jiang’s goal is to develop a molecular targeted treatment for individuals with HIST1H1E syndrome. HIST1H1E Genetic Syndrome Research Foundation is “a parent-run organization dedicated to furthering research on the HIST1H1E. Through their hard work, perseverance, and love for their kids, Kimberly, Jason, and other parents of similarly affected children were able to gather financial support to give a gift to Dr. Jiang and fund his research focused on better understanding HIST1H1E (H1-4).
