The Gopal Laboratory studies mRNA transport, RNA metabolism and its regulation in healthy and diseased neurons, in order to identify therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
