Graduating Yale Ortho fellows recently presented their latest research.
The Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation hosted the 2022 Fellow Research Showcase, where seven fellows from six divisions came together to share their focused work. Fellowship directors called it a “wonderful event” to celebrate the culmination of an intense year of Yale training.
Everything from cervical fusions and femur fractures, to plaster strength and opioid prescription trends was covered at the hybrid event on July 29.
The graduation makes way for several onboarding fellows to Yale Ortho, including Taikhoom Dahodwala, MD, Ansab Khwaja, MD, Motasem Salameh, MD, and Sercan Surucu, MD.
Dahodwala is serving in our spine division. He was born and raised in India, and previously served at Yale 10 years ago on brief rotations with radio diagnostics and pediatric radiology. He has since completed an orthopaedic residency at Grant Medical College in Mumbai, and a one-year fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
Khwaja grew up in the Seattle area and recently wrapped up a residency at the University of Arizona. He’s joined our adult reconstruction division.
Salameh comes to us from Brown University, where he served this past year in their foot and ankle fellowship program. He completed his residency at the Hamad medical corporation ACGME-I accredited program in Qatar. Salameh grew up in Amman, Jordan.
Surucu completed medical school and his residency in Istanbul, Turkey. He’s joined our sports medicine division. Most recently he’s been serving as a research fellow at the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
