Unsupervised clustering analysis groups together genes with similar patterns of expression. In the figure, each row represents a gene and each column represents a sample. The red, black and green colors represent gene expression levels above, equal and below the median expression of a gene across all samples.
The Keck Biostatistics Resource was established in 2002 and has been directed by Dr. Hongyu Zhao. This resource specializes in statistical and computational analysis of various types of biological and biomedical data, such as gene expression, genotyping, mass spectrometry, next generation sequencing, and many others. Staff members within this unit are biostatisticians and research scientists with many years of experience in data analysis, methodology development, and service to the research community. They also contribute to the research design, and grant and manuscript preparations. The Biostatistics Resource works closely with other Keck resources to provide outstanding consulting service to scientists and doctors at Yale and other institutions throughout the country.
