Departments & Organizations

Junior faculty with extensive training in genetics, cell biology, and polycystic kidney and liver disorders. Conducted seminal studies on the genetic mechanism of Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Liver Disease (ADPLD) and unveiled an unexpected connection between the Ire1-XBP1 branch of the ER unfolded protein response and polycystin-1 (encoded by Pkd1, the gene mutated in Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease, ADPKD) maturation and cleavage. Current research is focused on the identification and characterization of paradigm-shifting therapeutic strategies to tackle ADPKD/ADPLD disease progression. Looking for exciting collaboration opportunities in academia/pharma.
