Session One: Generative Poetry Workshop

In this session, Jubi will discuss some of the following topics and work with participants.

• How to avoid the perpetuation/recreation of trauma in poetry
• Use/depiction of humor and/or joy in poetry
• Making space for rage in poetry
• Devices/priorities that govern the writing process: sound, syntax, surprise
• Influences – within the world of poetry and beyond
• Writing in unconventional “forms” (recipes, lists, dictionary definitions, etc.)
