Assistant Professor of Surgery (Otolaryngology)

Biography

Michael Weinstock, MD, is a pediatric ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialist and says he appreciates the many ways he can help children.

“In pediatric otolaryngology we are lucky to have the opportunity to help patients for many years to come,” he says. “We are one of the few specialties that affects a patient’s senses and how they interact with the world—mostly through hearing, but also through taste and smell. Having the chance to improve many decades of their lives is a humbling and powerful opportunity.”

Dr. Weinstock treats hearing loss; ear infections; sinus disease; lumps and bumps including congenital neck masses and growths; difficulty breathing and airway disorders; and sleep apnea. “In the past 20 years, we have learned so much about how important quality sleep is to a growing, young mind,” he explains. "I'm excited to help with a patient's sleep quality whenever possible."

His research interests include improving medical education, hearing loss, sinus disease. He is actively involved in multiple national organizations, and helps to run he Cochlear Implant program at Yale. He is also a member of the Vacular Anomalies Team, and the Trisomy 21 clinic.

As a father of three young children, he understands the challenges that families have when their children need medical care. He is proud to treat every child he meets as if he or she were his own, and loves spending time with kids both at work and at home.
