Overview
Jennifer Hopper, AuD, is an audiologist who specializes in a variety of areas, including hearing loss, hearing evaluation and treatment, bone-anchored hearing aid implants, and vestibular/balance testing.
Hopper was inspired to become an audiologist during her first two years of undergraduate studies, when she enrolled in a course in American Sign Language. “Learning sign language and deaf studies led me to find my passion for hearing loss and auditory rehabilitation,” she says. “People with untreated hearing loss experience social isolation and restricted activity participation. It is a gift to help facilitate in re-engagement, improved quality of life, and overall well-being with improved hearing.”
Hopper, who is the manager of the Yale Medicine Hearing and Balance Center, says she is able to provide excellent care because she can collaborate with colleagues within audiology, speech pathology, and otolaryngology to find the best treatment options.
