Gina Della Porta is the Director of Research Affairs for Yale Pathology, working with Dr. David Stern. Her primary function is managing the research activities of the Department, including fostering new research initiatives, development of team and individual grant proposals, faculty recruitment, and integration of basic and clinical research. She works with faculty on private and commercial fundraising activities and connects Pathology research initiatives with those of other departments. Gina previously worked as Associate Director of Research Development in Yale’s Office of the Provost, where she helped faculty to write and edit grant proposals, managed limited submission and internal grant competitions, and directed the Funding and Grantsmanship Training Program. Prior to this role, Gina worked as Senior Director of Research Development at Duke University, where she built and led Research Development units for both the Department of Surgery and School of Nursing. Gina completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Connecticut, Master of Health Sciences at Quinnipiac University, and Doctor of Health Sciences at Nova Southeastern University.
