Research

Overview

Post-acute infection syndromes (PAIS) are a poorly understood area of medicine that occur after a patient experiences an infection and either fails to recover, or temporarily recovers followed by a recurrence of their symptoms. PAIS affect both children and adults and can result in significant debilitation and poor quality of life. Symptoms of PAIS are often heterogenous and subsequently difficulty to diagnose and treat. The goal of my research is to identify specific biomarkers for PAIS for more accurate diagnoses and targeted therapy.
