Aaron Roberto, MD, a Yale Addiction Psychiatry Fellow, received an Educational Outreach Program Award at the 64th annual meeting of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) October 24-28 in Washington, DC.
Child and adolescent psychiatry residents are eligible for the award, which provides some travel expenses to the annual meeting, where residents gain access to mentors and research and networking opportunities.
Roberto was also recognized at the conference for completing a one-year term as Co-Chair of the Medical Student and Resident Committee, and for completing a two-year term as the Jerry M. Wiener, MD Resident Member on the AACAP National Council. He served on the Training and Education Committee during this term.
One applicant is selected nationally to serve as a resident member on the council. The member participates through recruiting and representing general psychiatry residents and child and adolescent psychiatry fellows by advocating for trainees. The member shares and addresses questions, concerns and/or potential training interests and initiatives with the council, and mentors younger trainees who want to increase their participation with AACAP.
Roberto received his MD from St. George's University School of Medicine in 2012. He previously completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's Hospital.
