Sandra Resnick, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Deputy Director of the VA Northeast Program Evaluation Center, has written a chapter in a new book of Department of Veterans Affairs career stories.
The book, “Still More Stories From VA Psychology,” is the fourth in a series that describes the leadership careers of 12 former and current psychology leaders in the VA. The authors describe their formative VA training, trace their career development, and describe their clinical, training, research, administrative, and advocacy experiences.
“It’s basically an autobiographical description of some of the work I’ve done and lessons learned,” Resnick said.
According to the publisher, the authors “illustrate satisfying careers serving veterans and working with colleagues they admired and respected. The stories help to expand the understanding of the formal history of VA psychologists in helping veterans over the years.”
The careers of the authors collectively span 1976 to the present, and all four volumes collectively cover all 74 years of VA psychology history from 1946 to the present.
Resnick is actively involved in psychology and psychiatry training at Yale and the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven.
She is also editor of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Journal published by the American Psychological Association.
