Ania Shea has been appointed as the Educational Administrator for the Department of Surgery. The new role marks a pivotal step towards centralization and restructuring within the department's educational infrastructure, aimed at fostering alignment across various initiatives.

Under this new framework, Shea's responsibilities will extend beyond her previous role as Program Coordinator for the General Surgery residency program, encompassing oversight of the department’s clerkship, multiple residency programs, fellowships, and continuing education initiatives.

“This restructuring represents a significant departure from our siloed approach to educational management and underscores the department's dedication to continuous improvement and strategic alignment,” said Interim Vice Chair of Education, Mehra Golshan, MD, MBA.

The Educational Administrator will collaborate closely with Dr. Golshan, and with administrators across the training programs, to facilitate the development of best practices, guidelines, and shared resources that support a cohesive educational experience for trainees and educators.
