The NIH-DOD-VA Pain Management Collaboratory Coordinating Center announces receipt of a $150,000 project supplement to expand the capacity to support a new NIH/National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health-sponsored pragmatic clinical trial.
The supplement will support project staff and faculty who will provide invaluable advice and guidance to support the successful enactment of the new trial based at the Oregon Health Sciences University titled, “Tele-Collaborative Outreach to Rural Patients with Chronic Pain: The CORPs Trial.”
This new project complements 11 ongoing pragmatic clinical trials of nonpharmacological approaches for the management of pain and common co-occurring conditions in military and veteran health systems.
The collaboratory is jointly directed by Yale faculty Robert D. Kerns, PhD, professor of psychiatry and of neurology and psychology; Peter Peduzzi, PhD, professor emeritus of biostatistics and senior research scientist of biostatistics; and Cynthia Brandt, MD, MPH, professor of emergency medicine and of anesthesiology and of biostatistics.
