Ebony Dix, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry, has been elected Psychiatrist, Director-At-Large for the Board of Directors of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP).
The position carries a three-year term, expiring in 2025.
The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall direction and vision for AAGP and for ensuring implementation of its goals and objectives. It typically meets face-to-face twice a year and holds approximately four to five teleconferences annually.
AAGP promotes the mental health and well-being of older people through professional education, public advocacy, and support of career development for clinicians, educators, and researchers in geriatric psychiatry and mental health, according to its mission.
Dix is a 2019 graduate of the Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship program at Yale School of Medicine. In 2020 she received the Outstanding Clinical Preceptor of the Year Award at the medical school.
