Assistant Professor David Brissette, MMSc, PA-C, has been named director of the Physician Associate (PA) Program. Brissette has done a tremendous job leading the program as interim director for the past year and has significantly contributed to the success of the PA Program as assistant director since 2010.
The Yale School of Medicine PA Program continues to attract the nation’s top applicants in large part due to Brissette’s leadership as chair of the PA Program Admissions Committee. His efforts have helped increase student diversity, positioning the program to reach its goal of more diversity among its graduates. Brissette is a highly regarded educator and member of the General Internal Medicine faculty. He is a relationship builder and strong collaborator across health professions. He was one of the founding faculty members of the Interprofessional Longitudinal Clinical Experience (ILCE) and continues to support interprofessional education as ILCE co-director and section leader. He was also one of the founding PAs on the Hospitalist Service at Yale New Haven Hospital and continues his clinical practice with that service. Brissette serves on the Clinical Skills Assessment Committee for MD students and is a test item writer for the Physician Assistant National Recertifying Exam.
