The American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) awarded the 2024 ASCP H.P. Smith Award for Distinguished Pathology Educator Award to Alexa Siddon, MD, FASCP, Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Yale School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Hospital, Director of the Hematopathology Fellowship, and Medical Director of the Clinical Molecular Diagnostics and Flow Cytometry Laboratories in Laboratory Medicine.
This illustrious award, presented in conjunction with the ASCP 2024 Annual Meeting, held September 3-6, 2024 in Chicago, recognizes ASCP pathologist members with distinguished careers in pathology and laboratory medicine who embrace education, research, and administration, or service to organized pathology.
“I am deeply honored to be recognized by my peers,” Dr. Siddon says. “ASCP is my professional home. ASCP unites laboratory professionals and pathologists—all of whom play a pivotal role to diagnostic medicine and the patient care team—under one umbrella.”
