Two fleet-footed Yale Department of Psychiatry members finished the New York City Marathon on November 5.
Brian Fuehrlein, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Psychiatric Emergency Department at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System, placed in the top 25 percent of all finishers with a time of 3:57:54. It was Fuehrlein’s first marathon.
David Saunders, MD, PhD, a member of the Albert J. Solnit Integrated Training Program, placed 40th out of 50,652 finishers with a time of 2:30:05. He placed as the eighth American male, and the 32nd male overall, finishing 11th in his age group.
He ran for the New York Athletic Club, which placed second out of 446 teams in the team competition.
