Program for Biomedical Ethics: "In Search of the True Self"
We conducted a series of experimental studies to explore people's ordinary way of thinking about personal authenticity. The results showed a surprising effect whereby liberals and conservatives have different intuitions about what it means for a person to reveal her 'true self.'
