Overview
Joyce Oen-Hsiao, MD, is a cardiologist who specializes in a range of cardiac issues, including coronary artery disease, cholesterol management, hypertension, and women’s cardiac disease. Dr. Oen-Hsiao is the director of the cardiac rehabilitation program and medical director of the cardiac telemetry unit at the Yale New Haven Hospital’s Heart and Vascular Center.
“Cardiac physiology and cardiac diseases are fascinating,” says Dr. Oen-Hsiao. There are many ways to improve cardiac health, and it’s rewarding as a physician when she sees patients get healthier and feel better about themselves, she says. “I like to tell patients not to worry because I am there to help them get their health back. Working together, we can succeed.”
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Oen-Hsiao participates in primary and secondary prevention clinical research in cardiac rehabilitation patients.
