Overview
Ajay Malhotra, MD, is a radiologist who specializes in neuroradiology. He diagnoses and treats conditions related to the nervous system, including stroke, which occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, and intracranial aneurysms, a balloon-like bulge in a blood vessel.
As a professor of radiology and biomedical imaging and of neurosurgery at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Malhotra conducts research on comparative effectiveness in neurovascular care. His work aims to explore the evidence behind clinical decision-making, assessing both outcomes and costs to improve health care quality and access. He has a deep interest in neurosciences, which drives his commitment to working with trainees and exploring the societal impact of medical practices.
Dr. Malhotra completed his medical training at VSS Medical College and Hospital in India and pursued residencies in radiology at Government College and the University of Rochester Medical Center, followed by fellowships in interventional neuroradiology, diagnostic neuroradiology, and musculoskeletal radiology at the same institution.
