Two Yale Researchers Receive Young Investigators Award from American Academy of Dermatology

March 20, 2017

Christopher Bunick, MD, PhD, and Oscar Colegio, MD, PhD have been chosen as the 2017 recipients of the Young Investigators in Dermatology by the American Academy of Dermatology.

These awards recognize outstanding basic, translational, or clinical research by young dermatology investigators in the U.S. and Canada, and the dermatology departments that support their efforts. The award is intended to acknowledge winners’ contributions that further the improvement of diagnosis and therapeutics in the practice and science of dermatology. With a membership of more than 19,000, it is uncommon that both investigator awards be given to faculty from the same institution.

Bunick, assistant professor of dermatology, received the award for research on the atomic resolution structures of proteins and protein complexes essential to the formation of a functional human skin barrier. Read more at www.jidonline.org/article/S0022-202X(16)32352-1/abstract.
