The Yale Addiction Medicine Consult Service (YAMCS) is available at Yale New Haven Hospital’s Saint Raphael’s Campus (SRC). YAMCS treats patients suffering from various substance use disorders when they are admitted to the hospital for a medical condition related to the substance use or they are found to have a substance use disorder during their evaluation, said Melissa Weimer, DO, MCR, FASAM, medical director of YAMCS.

If you have a patient who needs a consult, complete the referral in Epic. Currently, the service is only available at the SRC campus, with the exception of patients who have infective endocarditis who can also be seen at the York Street Campus. The program hopes to expand in the future.

YAMCS is part of the Yale Program in Addiction Medicine, part of Yale School of Medicine’s Section of General Internal Medicine.
