Each of the Yale School of Medicine advisory houses has at least one community affiliate, to enhance ties between the houses and the New Haven community. Among other activities, students are working with the community affiliates to establish ongoing volunteer opportunities with the organizations the affiliates represent. Two advisory houses—Palade and Slayman—have weekly opportunities in place that are open to anyone interested in participating.

Congratulations to the students who graduated from Simulation Academy at Yale— an after-school program with hands-on health care simulation and STEM learning! Within the last year, the students explored careers in health care. They were guided in mentorship by Yale undergraduates, medical students, fellows, and faculty. Through weekly sessions at the Yale Center for Healthcare Simulation, they gained real-world experience and confidence, to envision their futures.
