Dr. Deborah Levy Inducted into 2025 Class of AMIA Fellows

Deborah Levy, MD, MPH, MS, has been named a 2025 Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association (FAMIA) in the prestigious FAMIA Applied Informatics Recognition Program. She is among 87 professionals nationally recognized for advancing health informatics to improve healthcare outcomes, organizational performance, and patient empowerment. Read More

Yale BIDS at AMIA 2024 Annual Symposium

In November 2024, Yale BIDS made a strong impact at the AMIA Annual Symposium in San Francisco, CA. Our team led workshops, presented panels, papers, podium abstracts, and posters, and participated in a debate and demonstration. Yale BIDS also exhibited at the event and hosted a lively cocktail party to celebrate and connect with colleagues.

Centered on the theme “Informatics in the Age of Generative Artificial Intelligence,” the symposium highlighted cutting-edge advancements and Yale BIDS' impactful contributions to health informatics.

BIDS State of the Department Address: Celebration of Progress

Dr. Lucila Ohno-Machado, Chair of the Department of Biomedical Informatics & Data Science (BIDS), delivered the inaugural State of the Department Address, celebrating milestones such as hosting the AI in Medicine Conference, recruiting exceptional new faculty, welcoming a talented cohort of MS and PhD students, launching groundbreaking research initiatives, and earning prestigious national and international recognition. The event concluded on a sweet note, with attendees enjoying cake to celebrate the department’s achievements and bright future.

CI Luncheon

The second Clinical Informatics Luncheon brought together faculty and participants for an engaging session featuring updates from MIOs Allen Hsiao, Hyung Paek, Emily Powers, and Prem Thomas. Attendees had the opportunity to connect, explore ongoing initiatives in Clinical Informatics across the Health System and within Epic, and gain valuable insights into the latest projects and advancements.
