Dr. Lei Zhang honored with American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dr. Lei Zhang, a postdoctoral associate in the laboratory of Xiaoyong Yang, PhD, Professor of Comparative Medicine and Cellular and Molecular Physiology and a member of Yale Cancer Center’s Cancer Signaling Networks Research Program, has been honored with the 2023 Postdoctoral Fellowship from the American Cancer Society. This prestigious award will serve as a catalyst for Dr. Zhang's ongoing research endeavor, delving into the intricate molecular intricacies and therapeutic prospects of fatty liver-associated liver cancer.

Dr. Yang's laboratory focuses on understanding the signaling and transcriptional mechanisms dictating metabolism, with the ultimate goal of devising innovative approaches to combat metabolic disorders and cancer. Dr. Zhang's project holds immense potential not only in unraveling the pathogenesis of liver cancer, but also in pioneering novel therapeutic avenues.
