Lawrence and Memorial Hospitalist Program

Medical Director: Samantha Earley, MD

Our team of Yale pediatric hospitalists care for newborns, children, and young adults up to the age of 21 years. We work across several different clinical areas. In our role as newborn providers, we attend deliveries and work closely with neonatologists, obstetricians, midwives, nurses, lactation consultants, and social workers when caring for babies on the maternity unit or in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). As a baby-friendly hospital, supporting breastfeeding is very important to us. We see children in the emergency room and manage patients admitted to our Pediatric floor. We co-manage all pediatric patients admitted for surgery with our surgical teams to ensure every child receives the best pediatric care. Through telehealth and phone consults we can apply subspecialty expertise at a local, community hospital level. Dr. Hochreiter leads the pediatric quality improvement program and works on a number of multidisciplinary projects aimed at improving care for children of all ages.
