Four PA Students Receive CTPAF Award

April 16, 2015
by Brittany Hogan, PA-SI

Each year, the CTPAF awards several scholarships to current PA students who attend a Connecticut PA program or are residents of Connecticut attending an out-of-state program. The scholarship amount varies annually and is largely dependent upon generous donations from the PA community through various fundraising efforts. Awardees are evaluated on a written essay, community service, and the student’s curriculum vitae.

This was the most competitive and exciting year for the scholarship, as there was a record number of scholarship dollars available and a record number of applications. Ten scholarships were awarded this year on April 15th at the annual CT Charter Oak Conference. Four awards were received by Yale PA students, Lauren Bloom, Miriam Feinstein, Brittany Hogan, and Kathleen Marcinkowski. Bridgeport University received 4 awards and Quinnipiac University received 2 awards. Three of the Yale students took the top honors. One student was quoted as saying, “It was a great honor to be a scholarship recipient this year and to receive the award at the annual CT Charter Oak Conference in Newport, RI. I am grateful for all of those who donate to the CTPAF and make this scholarship a possibility.”
